The Houston Public Library is a a member of the Foundation Center in New York. This national network of Cooperating Collections provides public access to authoritative print and electronic philanthropic resources.

The Andrew W. Mellon Foundation *- In November 1995, the Foundation's Board of Trustees has now appointed a Trustee Committee to consider, with senior staff members, what directions the Program in Culture and Arts should take in years to come. During the Trustees' review the Program in Culture and the Art will continue on an interim basis, at approximately the level of recent years, but without expectation of substantial new initiatives.
